Joey's Smooth Moves

Joey and Mollie got an X-box Kinect for Christmas so we have been enjoying making "fools" out of ourselves the past few months.  Here is Joey busting a move doing the dancing game.  This is a video that I frequently watch when I need a laugh or put a smile on myself.  Joey - you are such a great sport!

Fall semester in Grundy

A little catch up on what has been going on in our lives the past few months in VA.

Mollie and I ran our first 1/2 Marathon at the Outer Banks in November.  We trained together for a few months before and had so much fun visiting on our long runs.  I definitely couldn't have done the training without her.  The race went great and we had such great scenery overlooking the ocean.  Our goal was to finish in under 2 hours, and our official time was 1:55!!  I hope we can do another race again in the future together.

Mollie and Joey got an X-box Kinect.  Here we are busting a move at Matt's birthday party.

My 29th Birthday Party.  Damon took me to see the play, "It's a Wonderful Life".  I had never seen the movie, so it was a real treat.  We loved the play and then did a little shopping.  What I didn't know is that Damon was stalling so Mollie and Joey could get dinner ready at home.  When we walked in, Igor came running out with the balloons tied to him.  It was precious, and dinner was excellent - thanks Mossors.

Joey and Mollie got a new puppy, Scout.  Mollie knew she was getting Scout, but she didn't know when.  We were all in on the surprise which was really touch to keep a secret.  This is Scout meeting Igor for the first time.  They are a couple, and Scout wears the pants in the relationship, barking orders at Igor. :)  She isn't so little anymore - here she was about 12 pounds and now she is 30!

Christmas in Nashville with Damon's sisters, Allie and Jenny.  It was great to celebrate the holiday with family and to see Damon's nieces and nephew.  Here we are wearing our hats from our crackers.

Joey's birthday dinner at our favorite restaurant, The Tavern.  All six of us had the exact same dinner - Black and Blue Medallions - the best steaks any of us have ever eaten.

Matt's birthday dinner at the Hibachi Grill in Bluefiled, WV.  What a fun night with sake "shots" and great company.

So my days in VA were coming to an end.  This was at my going away party in Richlands.  My co-worker Melissa and I became great friends and I am so thankful to have met her.

Mom's VA visit

My mom came out in October to visit us and see Virginia for the first time.  She came at the perfect time because all the leaves were changing and the fall colors were beautiful.  We packed a lot into just a week, including driving 1400 miles!  We had such a great time together just visiting and catching up.  We started with a trip to the quaint little town of Bramwell, WV for their annual Octoberfest.

Deep fat fried Snickers - who knew!  It was delicious.
Getting our Polka on

Me, Mollie and Ashley
The Breaks Interstate Park - just 15 miles from our house.
We drove to Lexington, KY to take a tour of horse farms which includes the Keenland Race Track.  My mom was on cloud nine!
My mom getting to pet Tisnow - a horse that won the Breeders Cup.  Tears came to her eyes and I was so glad that we were able to take the trip to KY and have life long memories.
Blue Ridge Parkway road - this is what we drove through for about 180 miles - beautiful country!
This barn is just down the road from Damon's old house in Crossnore, NC
Standing at Grandfather Mountain - just miles from Damon's old home in NC

Biltmore Estates, Ashville NC.  We took a tour of the house and at dinner downtown.  The mansion is amazing and it's crazy to think that people lived in this nice of a place in 1890's!

Wine tasting at the Biltmore

Disney World

Wow, it's been over 4 months since I have posted anything.  I'm going to play a little catch up and then promise to stay more up to date with our blog.

Over Labor Day weekend, Mollie and I surprised our husbands with a trip to Disney World.  Let's just say the guys' faces were shocked when we took the exit to the Tri Cities airport!  We saw all four parks (Magic Kingdom, Epcot, Animal Kingdom, and Hollywood Studios) in just 2 1/2 day - a whirlwind trip, but so much fun.  Epcot was our favorite park because of the all the different world foods and great beers.

Joey and his good friend Yoda
Damon's dream to be Boba Fhet
Let me take you on a wild Star Wars ride - hold on tight Damon!

Maybe one of our scariest rides - Damon said it the elevator would only drop once.  Guess he learned he was wrong when Mollie and I screamed so loud every time it dropped (probably 8 times) that he had a headache afterwards.

Sporting our Five Finger shoes at Disney - we had a lot of strange looks and a lot of questions about, "what's on your feet"
We called our trip the beer and hat tour.  When ever we found a hat, we took pictures.

Quite possibly the best pizza ever in "Italy"
Goofy faces - notice Joey and I followed orders - that must be Damon and Mollie's goofy faces. :)
Splash Mountain - Damon and I, the six foot and over people chose the front seat.  The picture below shows that we blocked all the water from hitting Mollie and Joey.  You're welcome guys.

Animal Kingdom day - last day at Disney.
Second scariest ride - a big T-rex came out of no where!  I love how the kid behind Mollie is just smiling and Mollie and I look like we are about to pee our pants.
Farewell picture at Disney - Thanks to the Mossors for the great trip and the wonderful memories.
